About fifty years ago, a new city was created near Buckinghamshire to help relieve the overcrowding of the London area. The original plan for this city was to include a population of 250,000 people, many green spaces, many trees and city amenities that would make it a very attractive place to live. Things went very well for this new city, named Milton Keynes, and recent development plans want to expand the city even more to include new homes in some of the peripheral areas of the city.
City developers would like to have the new developments have a focus on less private car transportation and more public transportation or use of cycling. Of the 30,000 new homes planned for the city expansion, about 20,000 would be in the peripheral areas of the city, and the rest within the current urban areas. The aim of these new areas is to create greener more sustainable parts of the city that will provide a model for years to come.
Along with the new developments on the outskirts of the town, there are also big plans for Central Milton Keynes. This new “hub” as it is being deemed will include some new housing in Campbell Park. These high quality apartments, along with some work spaces aim to bring a twenty four hour community to life. These new developments will help to add to the already appealing culture that exists within this city.
Milton Keynes has the ability to host large scale open air events at their National Bowl. This venue has a 65,000 seat capacity that has mass appeal for outdoor events. There are many cultural events that potential buyers in the new developments can look forward to along with the outdoor concerts. There are many opportunities to experience the art scene through the Milton Keynes theater and the public art gallery. The Stables is also a well known venue for all types of music, and several accomplished jazz musicians are associated with the club. People that are looking for green spaces, attention to the environment, a variety of housing choices, and an enormous cultural scene will find what they are looking for in Milton Keynes.
