My friend suggested a memory foam mattress pad for my backaches. I bought the idea and went to search for one. Little did I know I would be further confused.
At the store, I was like a lost boy wandering around, looking at terms such as densities and thickness. I guess it was time to ask for some assistance from the experts. The guy at the store informed me that to get the full benefits of a memory foam mattress pad, something about 2 inches thick would be more than enough. 2 or 3 inches is ok, he said. Don’t go for something so thick, like 5 inches, because when you sleep in a 5 inch think mattress pad, you tend to sink in somewhat.
When it comes to density, he advised that it would depend on the person’s weight. Typically density is at 3 lbs. If I opt for something like the full 5 lbs density, it may take some time for the indentations on the mattress pad to come up or recover whenever I change my sleeping position. So, 3 lbs would be good for me. And I finally chose the 2 inch think mattress pad.
The guy at the store assured me that I could return the mattress pad if I didn’t like it. So I went home eager to try my new purchase, yet at the same time skeptical when thinking of a giant mattress pad swallowing me in. Those 5 inch mattress pads really got to me! I must stop thinking about all these negative things.
