Both trellises and pergolas have some very similar traits. These backyard structures are very beautiful in looks, but they both are garden structures in form and in design. They both allow for plants to climb up them, or be hung from them. They allow the plants to grow architecturally and make something beautiful and green. But, of course, even though the trellis and pergolas are very similar, they have many beautiful differences that separate them and make give them beauty in and of themselves.
The trellis, for example, is smaller than a pergola, and is put in different places. It has many sizes and different designs. Some are spherical shaped, and others are ladder shaped and go up against a home or wall to allow the vines to climb them. Every design is almost always completely covered in green, and depending on the shape of the trellis, you will have that shape of green plants. So, for your yard that is in need of shapes, a trellis can help you accomplish this behind the scenes.
As for the pergola, they are much larger and meant for much larger places and events. The pergola can range from a smaller arbor pergola, to a large beautiful garden pergola that accommodates a whole conservatory. But, these also are used to be covered in greenery, sometimes. But, they look so beautiful if they aren’t necessarily used for climbing vines and just for hanging pots from, or just sitting in the garden. Especially the timber pergolas are so very beautiful.
So the trellis and the pergola are the same and different, but so very beautiful and amazing.
