We are not a family that spends a lot of money on the home just to keep up with the neighbors, but the time has come when we just have to get a new closet. Our is a good twenty years old, and looking the worst for wear. Organizing our clothes has become increasingly frustrating.
Having surveyed what’s available online, my eyes have been opened to all the advances that have been made in bedroom closet systems over the last two decades. It seems that whether you want wood or metal, chrome or nickel, with or without doors, you always have a big choice of closet organizers, and all flexible in their configuration and modular too. I have actually started to enjoy planning the new closet.
I have looked at many closet systems now, including a Sauder closet system, systems by Rubbermaid, John Louis and others. I have a had a close looks at easy closets with EasyTrack tracking, and I have even learnt the difference between a bifold and bypass closet door. Now I’m getting down to some serious shortlisting and the detail of the configuration we need.
I will definitely go for a wood closet, probably mahogany finish, but I can make that final choice at the last minute; a lighter teak is still on the table, so to speak. Thinking about the detailed configuration certainly gets you planning in some detail, and I know for sure I will include two closet doublers, a deep shoe rack, and at least 10 shelves.
The wonderful thing is, if I get the configuration wrong it is so easy to add another module or rearrange the modules I buy.
